Backup power with FENECON

Safety and Independence for Homes and Businesses

A power outage can occur at any time – caused by storms, grid fluctuations, or technical faults. With FENECON’s innovative energy storage solutions, you are well prepared for such situations. Depending on the system, different backup power options are available.

Our models offer well-designed and practical backup power features that ensure essential loads can continue to operate reliably in an emergency – and in some cases even keep the entire home running.

Backup Power Capability of the FENECON Home Series

All models of the FENECON Home Series – Home 6, Home 10, Home 15, Home 20, and Home 30 – come with backup power capability as standard.

In the event of a grid outage, they can continue to supply essential devices such as heating systems, refrigerators, routers, PCs, or selected power outlets.

Backup power output is generally limited to the maximum output of the respective hybrid inverter – 6 kW, 10 kW, 15 kW, 20 kW, or 30 kW.

If more power is drawn from the backup connection during normal operation than the inverter can deliver, the fuse will trip. Therefore, only essential loads should normally be connected to the backup line to avoid this scenario in everyday use.

However, if you want to keep the entire house powered during an outage, the FENECON AVU Box can be used with the Home 6 and Home 10 models.

The AVU Box ensures that no fuse trips during normal grid operation, even if short-term loads exceed the inverter’s power rating. Only in backup mode is the output automatically limited to the maximum possible power of the respective hybrid inverter. This allows the entire household to be reliably powered during an outage – without any limitations in normal operation.

Backup Power Capability of the FENECON Commercial 50

When combined with the FENECON STS Box, the FENECON Commercial 50 also becomes backup-capable. In both normal and backup operation, a maximum output of 50 kW is available. If this limit is exceeded, the fuse will trip.

For this reason, it is recommended to connect only the essential devices or system components to the backup circuit. The STS Box also provides the option to integrate additional energy sources in the future, such as a generator. This function will be activated soon.

Backup Power Capability of the FENECON Commercial 92 & All Industrial Solutions

The Commercial 92 and all Industrial variants (S, M, L, and XL) are currently not backup-capable. These systems do not use hybrid inverters but instead rely on pure battery inverters designed for high-power applications.
